BREAKING: I have confirmed from an incredibly close, super high profile insider, that SMU actually IS going to the SEC next year!!



LSU, bama, Tennessee, ole miss, miss st, Arkansas, vandy, Florida, Kentucky, a&m, Georgia, south carolina will be leaving however. Tulsa, Tulane, ECU and several other teams to be named will also be joining. Also, the media contract will be renegotiated and the name has been sold to the departing teams.

But great news!!!!

I'd go for that. We would basically be adding Missouri and Auburn to the AAC alignment.

and I'm sooooo glad they did but, as far as I'm concerned, ut can go to hell...SMU should never be in the position to have ut, or anyone associated w/it, tell us what to do.

I agree. I would rather NOT be in a conference with T-sips. However, UT or no UT, I say TAKE the first major conference that comes our way. While we are waiting - win 10+ each year and have a Merry Christmas!

(As to earlier statements perhaps we should have tried to join the NFL back when Collins was the head coach. LOL)

So far, we have elevated our program to be attractive to a dying relevant conference. I don't think we have upgraded enough to be attractive to a vibrant conference.

I understand and sympathize. Expect to keep reading it.

The bottom line is that the Big XII is, once again, on the clock, based on the new ACC deal. The conference simply cannot carry on longterm in it's current state - there are too many problems. They will have to either expand or they are most likley going to keep getting picked apart.

Just wait until football season, every time a team wins a game one of their bloggers will post some unsubstantiated drivel about (insert name of Big 5 conference) being interested in inviting them. These days you can get a lot of mileage out of recycling stories.
