Some of you keep applauding SMU's administrators and gradual progress but the train has left the station and we aren't on it. We should be innovative and have a sense of urgency here that I'm just not seeing.

so let's all stop contributing to the Mustang Club and watch as we drop to Division II or lower?
No, let's all stop contributing to SMU, academic side included. Hurt what actually matters most to get results. Not that very many on here donate with enough digits to make a blit on their radar
+1. Those nickels and dimes add up.
Angry alums + angry students + protest = change. Remember the 60's? Sit-ins, marches, a plethora of angry emails to Turner and the trustees, a Twitter campaign, space in the DMN, letters to the editor. Just bit€£in on here does nothing.
Turner and Hart have the best of both worlds. They get their salaries and benefits regardless of whether SMU wins or loses on game day while they root for UT and UNC, respectively, their alma maters. That sickens me!
I have SMU alumni friends that married TCU girls and are now TCU season ticket holders and NOT SMU SEASON TICKET HOLDERS. That says all you need to know about the enormous gulf between us and Fort Worth.

Says more about the friends.
For starters, they had to settle and they dont wear pants.

To me, that's the million dollar question. Which teams will draw SMU fans? I'm not talking about opponents that bring a lot of their fans, but opponents that will cause a lot of SMU fans to show up. TCU probably fits in that category, but even TCU doesn't draw 30K+ SMU fans. A&M? We saw last year that SMU fans won't pack Ford for them. Baylor? TTU? If we can't build more SMU fans who come out to see SMU play (regardless of the opponent), we'll still be chasing our tail.
It's about them wanting to see the better product, back-slap with their father-in-laws and talk about the big game at Cowboy Stadium with their colleagues at the water-cooler.

Good lord, your friends must have panicked or were desperate. Either way, just sounds like a horrible way to spend a life.

I'm out on season tickets this year, when you dropped Baylor that was the most interesting regional matchup. Tech is an OK matchup, but there is just nothing else.
Unfortunately just not enough people/alumni care about smu and there are not enough fans in the Dallas area who care. TCU was about in the same boat before they started the "homeotown team" marketing which took a few years and then had success in baseball and football and more casual fans took interest. I think part of the admittance requirement for students to SMU should be from a total student, alumni interest. If you get too many out of state or out of country that are only academic then you pay the price with indifference for years to come with such a small alumni base.
