Actually, our current academic standards are the highest they have ever been and are continuing to rise. We have rejected kids with 1500-1600 SAT scores.

You know it's out of 2400 right? you should be rejecting kids with that bad of an SAT score.

I don't have a problem w/ UH like some on here, but no one goes there as a first option. Its a great school if you didn't get into:

UT
SMU
A&M
Baylor
TCU
Tech
UT-Dallas

Nah. UH is better than UNT. I think a really good comparison for Houston is probably Texas Tech. Tech is full of DFW kids who didn't get into better schools. I'm sure Houston is the exact same only with kids down in the Houston area.

C'mon Stallions, we gotta allow some hyperbole sometime right? I mean Cougar King said their academics were rising in quality. Are you telling me I can't exaggerate when we're allowing him to do so?

I really don't get CougarKing. He makes some interesting and correct points, but its usually shrouded in sarcasm or outright arrogance. UH has had our number for quite a while and getting that 30 point win last year was very satisfying. However, we will be hard-pressed to go down there and get a win next year with the experience they have coming back. I hope its a great game and that both SMU and Houston are able to rise to the top of the new AAC. We have much more potential as a package deal than either of us do as a lone asset. UH knows this and so does SMU. We need the SMU/UH game to be for the AAC Championship every year.

I remember that well. Mallin was brought in by Rossley and begged for a job with Caven when Rossley was fired. Cavan gave him a spot and this is how he was repaid.

I met Steve Malin in NY LaGuardia airport, after he was an assistant/staff for NYGiants...

"Malin also allegedly had improper contact with other athletes and offered improper inducements to them totaling $650 over four years."

Pretty sure that $650 included a prom dress, tux rental and limo for the evening.
