Exactly. The University of Pittsburgh shares a practice facility with the Steelers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UPMC_Sport ... ce_Complex Do you really think the NCAA cares?Grant Carter wrote:I do not think it has any chance of happening, but how in the world do you see NCCA infractions resulting?ponyte wrote:I see Death Penalty written all over that. The NCAA is desperate for some team to crucify given all the Big Boys that have gotten away with stuff lately. And who better than SMU?

Jones already turned down a site where the players would have had to cross the street. I doubt he would approve something even farther away.

Here's a crazy solution... have we ever asked HP to use theirs?
It was good enough for the Packers...
Surely if there's rain in the forecast we could at least call them up and ask if it's going to be sitting empty?

Of course he would have, we ran the ball, hardly threw the ball, played great defense and we beat ranked teamsaustinponie wrote:He would've hated coaching here in the 80's, then...mrydel wrote:Jones already turned down a site where the players would have had to cross the street. Why must we continue to rag on a man who singlehandedly saved SMU football? Has he taken us as far as he can? Probably. But what's the harm in giving him support right now? What's the harm? Maybe we'd have to give up a few jokes about penciling in wins or rainbow warriors. But, gasp, we could just decide to support the head coach of our football team instead of throwing him under the bus for a few laughs.lwjr wrote:Of course he would have, we ran the ball, hardly threw the ball, played great defense and we beat ranked teamsaustinponie wrote:He would've hated coaching here in the 80's, then...mrydel wrote:Jones already turned down a site where the players would have had to cross the street. Up by 3 with a couple minutes left against Tulane. Field goal from the one yard line. This is no laughing matter.ponyboy wrote:

Re: Crazy Solution To IPF Conundrum
That last offensive possession of the Tulane game was the most gutless give up I have ever seen. I thought after the game that Jones was seriously trying to get fired.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Then the [expletive deleted] had the stones to leave before the band played Varsity. Shout out to Blake McJunkin for turning around when the music started. I think he was the only football player to hear it that day. I guess Jones had to get to the locker room and pencil in the next Tulane game as a loss.

If it wasn't for June Jones, we'd be in a conference with UTSA, UNT, Middle Tennessee, Louisiana Tech, FIU and FAU beginning this season. Please keep that in mind.

East Coast,
I agree. Jones is largely responsible for our move ever so slightly up the ladder in realignment. That said, getting our doors blown off by every decent opponent we play (exception TCU 2011) and losing to Rice and Tulane in the same season really doesn't lend itself to the belief that Jones has this thing going in the right direction. We will see this year if Mumme's influence can modernize this dinosaur of an offense.

Oh now, we're not ragging - it's the offseason.
No doubt in my mind, SMU's way better off now...
