I liked coach Gansz and his fire. I know he is still dealing with some personal issues, I hope he gets them resolved and back in the game. I don’t think our special teams play was bad last year … in fact I thought it was solid overall. Nor would I contribute a decreased in the frequency of blocks by Margus as the fault of Coach Gansz, but instead more prep by the opposing coaches/teams and the reputation that preceded Margus. Not sure how much recruiting he did or was asked to do … not sure that Sr was any different in that area. The GA in question that is replacing him has been here for 5 years (starting with SR). The players like him and relate to him. Coaches coach a variety of positions throughout their careers (not uncommon); they have to start sometime and somewhere. That’s what a GA position is for. S-Teams play is important. If JJ did not think he could handle it, I doubt he would be given the shot.

God Bless ... get well coach.

I assume this has nothing to do with his coaching and everything to do with his alcoholism.

easy as that

You hate to see people self destruct like that. But you have to hit bottom to crawl up sometimes. I hope that he overcomes his ghosts and is able to return to coaching soon. A little youth in the coaching staff I see as a helpful move. It brings innovation, energy and perhaps connectivity with the players (and potential recruits). Klemm is gone to LA. No sense in crying over spilt milk. We just have to get moving on new recruiters to get us great players and we have a new conference relationship to waive at these kids.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
