Billy Don Jackson, the illiterate guy who killed his drug dealer.Stallion wrote:DE Billy Don Jackson from Sherman was the No. 1 Recruit in the Country in 1976. Actually signed the old SWC Letter of Intent with SMU but then a week later signed National Letter of Intent with UCLA.
That, folks, is what rehabilitation is all about. Good for Billy Don Jackson; what a great story !Alaric wrote:2007 update on Billy Ray Jackson:

You might be thinking of Carl Snyder who was nicknamed Poppa Daddy.mathman wrote:Wasn't his nickname "Pappa Daddy" or am I thinking of someone else?
If I recall correctly, Charles Waggoner is quite the story. His freshman year he out performed ED and CJ, then had a career ending injury before his sophmore year. Tragedy for him, and SMU fans can dream about a Pony Express with three riders carrying the mail.AusTxPony wrote:I think the answer to success in Bball starts and ends with LB. JJ is hardly a LB, and if he were we might be entertaining top kids. BTW, I know about the rest, but don't remember Walker QB, Charles RB, Godine DB, Bennett WR off that '79 Top 100. What happened with their careers? No offense intended .
