Maybe the loss to Tulane will reap benefits this year by being a reminder of how we can't take anything for granted.

Nice to end the season strong but we can't have lapses in the beginning or middle of the year and win 8. Not being pessimistic or optimistic just being realistic.

Nice that the DMN and DCTF are so optimistic about our team this season, while the National mags hardly have any faith in us. Oh well, let's hope the Texans are right and we make a big splash our first year in the AAC.

I still like my 9-3 prediction. If Holland, who has been pretty harsh and negative for the last two years, is predicting good things, that is a great sign.

If this team finishes 8-4 ill be the first to admit JJ is a COY candidate. Recruiting aside, if we can go 8-4 with our OOC schedule, he deserves it. But I'll be shocked if we finish .500

I can't imagine any Mustang fan not being happy with 8-4 and a bowl game. But, if we lost to Memphis, we'd be griping about "the one that got away" like we did with Tulane last season and with good reason, too. But losing the bowl game would leave a bad taste in our mouths as well.
This is the nature of the football fan beast everywhere.
