I just double checked-Shead had no rushing attempts at UT in either 2011 or 2010. I didn't think he did-he was buried pretty deep on the bench. I think there was talk of moving him to TE or a blocking back when he transferred

He did something - there's a pic of him (I believe it was him) rushing against Rice in the DMN's base/worst case profile of us. He saw the field with the ball at least once.

I just read a story written on the day he transferred from a major UT website that said he never had a single carry in his UT career. He was like the 4th RB. He got passed on the depth chart by true freshman Joe Bergeron and Malcolm Brown

DMN says that's him pictured, carrying the ball against Rice
Whatever. He was a JC AA, he has some collegiate experience. How that translate to June Jones' Run and Shoot, I don't know.

It is possible that the pic is of Shead and he has no stats. Say he carried the ball but it was brought back on a penalty.
I have no idea if that is correct or the situation (but if it is, then Stallion and the rest of the board can claim to be right! How rare would that be?).
Regardless, his carrying the ball experience at TU is very, very limited (looks like mainly to practice).
He does have TU practice experience, limited TU game experience and a full season of JC game experience with one spring at SMU. And he seems to impress JJ so far. Once again, don’t know how that will translate on the field (Line was certainly a complete back and very reliable).
We do seem to have depth at RB (remember the struggles when Line had his toe injury).
O line isn’t a complete inexperienced bunch and GG comes back with experience and knowledge of the O. Receivers are not dropping the ball left and right.
If it all comes together, perhaps this s the year we see the JJ offensive explosion that Hawaii showed us in JJ’s last year there.

They are very high on this Freshman, Davis Webb. He graduated in December so he could go thru Spring Practice. Coaching staff is hoping they can red shirt, so who knows who the starting QB will be against SMU.

I don't know if this is up-to-date-it says June 2013 and I believe Tech lost 2 DLM since then but Phil Steele has SMU as one of the most inexperienced teams in the country. SMU fans seem to really be ignoring our inexperience. Tech was No. 64 (needs to be adjusted down) and SMU was a whopping No. 116 out of 125 teams

Great call, I forgot about the Morales twins. If I remember correctly, they were interested in us b/c we were always willing to offer both twins (and one was much better than the other). I think Tech ended up offering the 2nd twin to get the good twin. I think he impressed people when he first got there but not starting now, right?

Tech team could all have Malaria and I would take Tech based on June's first game history.

JJ also really liked Poet Thomas when he didn't have any offers...and then we suddenly went silent on him. Not sure why and then six months or so later, Tech offers and he accepts. Evidently has looked really good in camp so far.

last time I checked Alfredo Morales was scheduled to start-started 4 games last year. His twin Tony was not a bad recruit either and is expected to be in the 2 Deep

So a Class3A true freshman QB is going to take on our experienced DBs....either we suck or we should pick him apart.

Also QB Michael Brewer is hurt and has not been practicing. They don't expect him to play against SMU.
