It's been said numerous times that we're actually near 15k is season ticket sales and that the 9k was inaccurate and posted by a troll. Don't run around spreading false info, back up your facts first. If you need the ticket office number or to talk to one of the insiders then let someone know.
Tristatecoog is a troll? Is there a Houston troll club that you both attend on Thursdays?

I think CK was telling Tristate Coog that the 9K was posted by a troll on the Houston board. Not that Tristate is a troll.

Faculty & Staff members with a valid SMU ID may receive up to two (2) complimentary tickets. These tickets must be picked up at the main Athletics Ticket Office at Ford Stadium between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday, August 19, through Thursday, August 22, or between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, August 23. If you would like to purchase additional tickets, you may do so when you are picking up your complimentary tickets. Reserved seats are subject to availability. In the event that all reserved seats are allocated, standing room only tickets will be issued."

It's nice that SMU is still offering a couple free (endzone) tickets to faculty and staff. That should account for 500-1000 tickets and push the game closer to a sellout by the end of next week. All other games require faculty/staff to come to Gate 6 with an ID to pick up the tickets.

Speaking of trolls

That means they are having trouble selling them, not the other way around
Not really. If they wait until gameday to allocate the tickets as usual, but have some remaining they go unsold. This way if any tickets are remaining after the faculty and staff get their tickets, they can be put on sale immediately.

...and if it rains? I bet SMU lost a helluva a lot of ticket sales because of weather forecast for A&M game. I think SMU is overthinking this-SMU's strategy last year was an embarrassing flop. Even if there are more Aggies-we need to show tangible attendance improvement for propaganda purposes in the event there is more expansion. SMU should have had a record 38,000-40,000 fans at that game last year or whatever the maximum allowed by fire marshal-instead we fail to even sellout. SRO Sellout is what SMU needs to project on National TV marque game

The issue for the Aggy game seemed to be the ticket pricing. It was in line with what they're used to in College Station but not in Dallas. These Tech tickets are much more reasonably priced. Aggy just wanted to save the funds for their own season tickets and Johnny Football hadn't emerged yet. In fact, they were 0-1.

Exactly. If the game was after he emerged it was a sell out easy. If it was here this year, it would sell out at more than $95 a ticket.

but it wasn't-so that's irrelevant. Still should have easily been SRO. $95 (or I thought $85) to sit in the ENDZONE is ridiculous ticket gouging and it pissed off a bunch of fans that decided to stay home. Its not so much the $85 or $95 that flopped-its charging that much to sit in the endzone
