If you read the whole article, it says,
While alcohol sales may not be available this year at the Stadium, it’s a recommendation still being given a lot of thought.
It's not dead yet, call, e-mail, tweet...write a letter...let your wants/needs be known to the University Athletics Committee.

I'll just kick back in my chair and enjoy the Coog Brew (special red beer, UH tradition) among the many other beers and liquors I can buy from the concession stand.

It's Bud Light with food coloring. It's good that you have beer, but let's not pretend it's something special.

It seems they found the sale of beer might have a slight impact on attendance but are missing the bigger revenue opportunity (provided liability is covered) which could fund additional marketing options to fill the seats.
