for all that Manziel has been through since winning the Heisman and considering the FACT that he will be a "marked man" in the SEC this year, if he puts up the kind of numbers he did last year and A$M has the same kind of season they did last year, we could be watching the next Russell Wilson (without the same level of class, that is)

did anyone really think any major suspension was going to come from this? cash is difficult to prove/trace

Except that Russel, the muscle hustle, Wilson has goblin hands and has a much stronger arm.

Johnny is now on double secret probation. So, he must go to his room (apartment, house or chateau) without his dinner. And, he can not use his landline or TV. But, of course, he can have his entertainment system(s) and to study he can have his computer. This penalty has to have some real consequences, so he won't think he is getting away with anything. There are rules and he has been severely punishment.

I feel better already.

I feel like this is like the movie "Hard Target" where they let the homeless people who've agreed to be hunted for sport in exchange for $10,000 have a ten minute head start to get away from the hunters.

Rice in this case being the homeless people.

The whole Manziel thing is awesome. Evidence is secondary to who the school is and if the school will fight.

A&M investigated Manziel...then they had to suspend him due to opening an investigation...then they petitioned to have reinstated when A&M found nothing wrong.

NCAA said...."we're cool with that."

I'm betting not every school has the ability to tell the NCAA how it's gonna go down.

...and yeah...my book shows how the NCAA was just as selective back in the 80's...same old...same old.

A truly great attorney from the SMU Law School would have insured he got a 4 game suspension.

we would have self punished, forfeiting games we didn't play yet just because we have it on good authority that our coaches thought about starting him, and forfeiting all of last year, and reducing our own scholarships for the next five years, and washing all the NCAA officers cars, even the ones from ten years ago, for the rest of the year.
