This was in the early 60's when they played in the Cotton Bowl. I was not aware that the 'contribution had started then. Sorry - don't know. I just know that he was really pissed.

It's gestures such as this (and mrydel's) that give me hope for this world, and not just because it affords someone to be able to attend the game they love, but more importantly the willingness of those extending a hand when it's needed most.CalallenStang wrote:Ridiculous. I'll also front you some cash if necessary...just PM if needed. I will see you at the game tomorrow.

I would be too. Donation was the only excuse I could even think of for that sort of behavior by the ticket office.redpony wrote:This was in the early 60's when they played in the Cotton Bowl. I do have an ulterior motive - ponyboy's seats are right in front of me so I'd rather have him sit there than some Tech fansFroggieFever wrote:It's gestures such as this (and mrydel's) that give me hope for this world, and not just because it affords someone to be able to attend the game they love, but more importantly the willingness of those extending a hand when it's needed most.CalallenStang wrote:Ridiculous. Ponyboy, please let me know how I can help. I might have an extra ticket- or is there a Mrs. Ponyboy? If you have the tickets that were mailed to you to keep I would be happy to help ANYONE that loves our Mustangs get to a game. You are such a good fan who is always positive. We need a whole lot more like you! I will meet and give you what you need. Seriously...Go Mustangs

FAF alertponyboy wrote:Since Ford Stadium opened, I have been a season ticket holder. My dear parents have purchased the tickets for my August birthday every one of those years, a really nice gesture on their part even though I am fully able to afford to do so myself. This year was apparently no exception to the pattern since, just like you, I received my tickets and have been making plans to attend tomorrow night's opener.
Today I get a call from a very nice guy who tells me that a mistake was made in sending the tickets since they were never paid for and that I owe $670 immediately if I want to attend tomorrow night's game. Let me repeat, I get a call the day before the game that the tickets are invalid unless I pay up $670. Annyoying, yes, but not normally a problem financially. However I just laid down several thousand dollars for my kids' schools and I don't have $670 today -- but I offer to pay the surprise balance in two weeks with my next paycheck. The answer is no, we are going to release the tickets to the general population and you are no longer a season ticket holder at SMU.
Wow. Just wow.

May the forth be with us.

This is not surprising. Overall, a department lacking common sense and consideration. Short timers hoping for a better gig.Big Hoss wrote:Not only terrible customer service, but a terrible way to treat an alumnus and season ticket holder.

Re: Un freaking believable
First of all, I am overwhelmed by the gestures -- particulary by Mrydel, Calallen, and mustang addict. Our frog friend is right: it does give us hope for this world when people like you exist.
I haven't yet decided what I'm going to do. It's slightly more complicated than the story I told above and includes a double charge two years ago on a Mustang Club donation, a failure to refund that donation despite several requests, and now this.
I want to be there tonight. But I just don't know. I do hope we kick the snot out of Tech, though. That I do know.

I have four extra tickets, and can cancel my invites for three of those. Just let me know. [email protected]

This is not cool Ponyboy. I hope you get it all straightened out. Want you there tonight. Sometimes the simplest things turn out to be a clusterF...K.
