What we need is a QB with the experience of Peyton Manning to execute the overly complicated offense-Gilbert doesn't look like he knows what to do half the time just like last year. In addition the O-line doesn't look like they know how to pick up blitzes. Do we have a coach who can coach the O-line? Or is last years RB coach all there is teaching them. Don't know if this is an issue, just asking.
Anyone else notice that the position coaches seem to be shuffled around at random each season? Seems like a stupid way to run a team, but that's just me.

My son said we should have had at least 14 points, probably 21, if we had played smarter on offense. He didn't understand why JJ wasn't taking advantage of tech defense not having safeties b/c everyone was playing up. He kept saying all SMU has to do is throw long and score. Guess after our 1 long completion, JJ thought those 2-3 yard passes were better for us.

First, TTU blitzed the Hades out of us. That limited the time to set up for the long ball. We had almost 500 yards total offense against a decent Big XII team. That isn't too shabby.
I'm not propping up Jones but this wasn't the offenses fault. There were stupid penalties in the red zone. That isn't due to play calling. We had a very long field all night and moved the ball. And no turnovers.
The O is much further along in the first game than any of Jones' previous openers.
Th D was shell shocked. Special teams killed us. This was a team loss including the coaching staff. But it wasn't all Jones' fault.

I blame it on you putting everyone in a panic. It bled over to the team. There is no "I" in team, but there is one in panic.
