getting cheap tickets will not be a problem. Worst case, you can buy a couple of end zone seats on game day and sit near the 50 yd line on the visitors side for that game. Barrig a shocking turnaround by SMU in the next several weeks, stadium should be no more than half full. Start time will depend on whether they deem us both worthy for TV and could be as early as 11:00 am central (again...worst case). Visitors can feel out of place on the Blvd, but you can find some very welcoming tailgaters here on PonyFans. Hope you enjoy your visit to Big D

Ozona's for a bloody mary...Donkey is usually open pretty early. Hit the W museum, tour the campus, hit the Boulevard and stroll around.

Ozona's will be open early. Trinity Hall will be open early since it's a soccer bar.

Ozona's would be a better experience in my opinion but Trinity Hall is within walking distance of Ford if you want to get lit.

I've never taken DART all the way from DFW to downtown. To be honest I've only ridden on DART like twice during Texas/OU weekend. As far as its reliability I think its quite good, but I've heard its a little dangerous at night.

On the rail map looks like the orange line runs to D/FW. . . To be perfectly honest, most of us in Texas use our personal vehicles, and not mass transit. . . But here is the link for you.

I was on DART for six years. Reliable and safe during the day. Rarely took it during the night.

I wouldn't recommend taking it from the airport even if you can, though. Just take a shuttle or rent a cab - it's too easy to get around in a car (I think).

I'm coming for the game with some non-Texans and will be staying at Omni hotel - all the hotels by SMU are sold out for family weekend.

Was planning on taking Dart from downtown to MOckingbird - is that a good idea? Thanks,

Yes. I took it from SMU to right where the Omni is for about a year. It's easy, and if I remember correctly, only about 20 minutes on the actual train.

The DART rail system is reliable. From downtown you can take either of the blue, red or orange lines north. They all go to Mockingbird Station which is the stop for the game and most of the bars/restaurants that others have mentioned. You can check the schedule at dart.org.

One other thing you might consider if you're going to be around longer than Saturday is stoping by Dallas' Arts District. It's very underrated. The Perot Science Museum is outstanding. As are the Nasher Museum and Dallas Museum of Art. But definitely take the time to walk around our campus. We may be biased, but we do have a beautiful campus, including the Bush library and Meadows Museum. The Boulevard on gameday is a must.

DART is very reliable and is clean and safe at any hour (Dallas people are babies, have no idea what it's like in other big cities). The orange line doesn't quite reach DFW airport yet, but reaches the edge of airport property. There is a bus route set up between DFW Terminal A and that station at the edge of the airport.
