We almost lost to a Division 2 school. That is embarrassing.
Get used to this----after watching the Mustangs for 40 years my seats will be vacant. June Jones has managed to do what the death penalty didn't-kill football for good at SMU.
How could you possibly sit through all the garbage Cavan, PB, etc. put out and now blame June Jones? He may not be the answer, but he certainly is not the problem. We are not in the Big XII because of the Pony Express years/DP/ineptitude we are no longer in CUSA thanks to Jones. AAC is not great but it is better than all the other non P5 conferences.
Mediocrity is not the goal. 8-5 in his second year. SMU should be recruiting much better by now. SMU should not be in games with Montana state. SMU should be able to keep up with a bad big twelve team with a first year head coach.
See Louisville. Why can't that be the expectation?

mustangxc, to whom much is given, much is expected. jones continues to underdeliver, gives no visible indication he wants to be here, wanders up & down the sideline looking aloof and lost, still can't figure out how to execute a hurry-up offense, and oh yeah, has still not figured out recruiting. his teams look completely uninspired and he has lost a majority of the fan base too.
someone said it in another thread......teams play like they practice. June Jones could care less about SMU---except for his checks. Every time he walks on the field in his black and has rainbow warrior crap put on OUR helmets, he is giving us the finger. It's time for him to go back to the islands and stay there.

one could argue that we still would have been invited to AAC without Jones. See Tulane.
June Jones can coach. Tom Mason can coach. SMU is a well coached football team-June has just horribly managed Texas recruiting. If he hired 4 young aggressive recruiters and kept his core staff he would be a lot smarter coach on gameday
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

The reference was to restrictions from academic standards. Tcwhoo, the community college in FTW, doesn't fall in that equation. It's a joke to be in the same breadth. Personally, we have a long way to catch up to Vanderbilt.
