lol, awesome.
Both of you are nuts! The ticket is a joke save for the greatness of Norm. At least Galloway talked sports.

Ratings don't lie. The Ticket has dominated the sports talk landscape here in DFW for the last 15 years and it ain't gonna change anytime soon. Grandpa Urine was borderline senile.

There is no explaining dumb. Calling the Ticket "sports talk" is stretching it.

Always liked Galloway even though he had major Horned frog love and SMU never got a mention. I tried to listen to the Ticket this morning and those idiots were talking about 38 special and The Eagles for 30 minutes. We are in the middle of football season and they are talking concerts for the weekend. I do love fake Jerry though.

I like him. When I was in school, I had an internship with the Cowboys, and if I wasn't spotting or doing stats for one of the team's TV or radio stations, I often watched the game (and then collected post-game quotes for distribution to the media, for reporters who couldn't get to everyone they wanted to interview). There were several times when Galloway would sit at the same table with me, knock down a few Miller Lites (Jerry used to turn on the kegs at halftime ... but to the best of my knowledge, he has yet to "protect" me) and talk to me the same way he talked to 30-year veterans of the newspaper business. He shared a lot of funny stories, and offered a lot of advice. Good guy.

When you say "spotting", I assume you were spotting larry allen on bench press?

Ticket is great, unless you're looking for a station that talks about (or knows anything about) sports. Norm is solid, despite his voice, and Rich does a great job on the SMU road games, but other than that, DFW radio will miss Galloway immensely. Fitzsimmons and Mosley are OK, and I guess they'll steer that ship for a while, but with the Ticket taking over that station, they'll screw it up by throwing some schtick-based buffoons on over there.

The ratings indicate that essentially no one will miss him.

That's fine. Everyone likes and dislikes different things. Thousands go out to watch NASCAR, so it's a very marketable "sport", even though watching people turn left for hours has never been even slightly entertaining to me. The Ticket is the NASCAR of radio to me: absolutely zero appeal (except SMU road games).
