The rumor I'm hearing, as weird as this sounds, is that Mack is to become the new AD. Also, that Briles is the front runner for the UT job.

thats not weird - but it sure would sting the bears. He would get about an extra 2M a year probably.

Mack being the AD there isn't out of the ordinary, wisconsin did it with barry alvarez. Mack has had a bad run of recent but still is a nat'l title winner and almost won another one had colt not gotten hurt, he deserves some respect and not a Kiffin ousting.

I would be surpirsed if Maligli left us for UT, seems kind of like a sidestep with the way our program is going right now Idk if he'd want to jump off browns staff unless for a HC job. Dont we pay our assitants extremely well anyways?

I just do not see him being named AD. I do see him in a role at the University but not as AD. Of course I have been wrong with about 87.5% of my posts lately.

Can't fathom Briles going with the bs he'd have to deal with at UT, plus being a Tech alum, you'd think he'd have a lot of vitriol in his heart for all things burnt orange

Mack won't be the AD. If anything, he will get a ceremonial David McWilliams-type job. They'll be going for the "primo" athletic director.

I had heard this as well, and that it was actually the succession plan in place for a while now. The wild card in it is the success BU is having; Briles may not be game anymore to go to Austin.

who really gives a crap what mack and the whorens do! I hope Briles stays at BU as that might give us a better chance at getting Montgomery if we decide we want him.
