Lazy coaching staff??? They work a heck of a lot harder than any of us do. You don't find them festering on message boards all day long denigrating others with fiction and skewed interpretations.

And FWIW, I was at the courthouse waiting for jury duty when I posted this, so no i was not blackout. hah. being drunk there probably wouldn't work out too well. I would prefer to be on a jury than before a jury.

I get that the staff may not recruit as many would like. That does not equate to being lazy. I see no need to hurl insults which are unfounded rather than rest on the strength of your argument. You have no idea what any of the staff did today. Or how long they did it for. So you can't call them lazy.

Don't know why JJ would make an offer now to any player with zero offers & little interest from other programs if it was 100% certain he was leaving. Maybe, just maybe, JJ is staying? Otherwise it will look bad for SMU and of course JJ knows this.

I think we can agree that the staff should be recruiting kids with a work ethic and physical talent/tools, too.

Frankly, I’m baffled from reading about the way staff approached this young man. It’s almost as if the recruiting were delegated to his teammates and his coaches. I don’t know enough to criticize, but something doesn’t seem right here. Half-hearted? Panicked? Brilliantly efficient?

At least there is no cricket to post today.

Yeah this could just be a passive-aggressive move by June to give the new guy more work in cleaning up our recruiting class. In some weird way he might actually think he's helping.

Mustangsabu.. we call the coaching staff lazy because they dont put in the amount of work/effort that 99% of the other BCS schools do. We have every right to criticize how they recruit. Right when I read the headline that we got a commit I instantly knew that the kid had few offers.. but not a single damn offer?? come on guys. This is becoming absolutely pathetic. We have no chance to battle with the big boys with kids like this. We need to fire June Jones and hire a coach who puts a premium on recruiting. Just sickening

I'm sorry if it pisses people off well actually I'm not sorry and like BOP said it's not players fault they suck it's just not their sport. Sadly our recruiting staff blows and can't get any big name recruits or really try to. I think I remember them trying to go after maybe 4-5 - 4 and 5* recruits that's it and didn't even get one. They are content with building a FCS team and FCS talent recruits will happily come here over grambling because they can actually fly to games and not get staff infections.
