That's a pretty broad sweeping generalization that I don't appreciate. You gonna blame mass shootings on gamers too?

Ride Gilbert until he falls. Have Burcham ready. It would be nice to have a time when we could give Burcham some quality playing time but I believe that opportunity has passed for this season.

Come to the games and then you can talk. Are you saying Neal Burcham cannot play? Why should we not start him?!

If you were at the UCONN game, you should be able to answer your own question. Season is not over yet, we need to win every game we play from here on out and we can't seem to beat ANYBODY convincingly enough to keep GG off the field unless he is legitimately hurt. Can Burcham play? I'm confident he can. But I ain't betting the rest of the damned season on a guy who hasn't started a game yet! Talk all you want about USF, but one of us beat Cincy and the other didn't, plus we have no defense to speak of (Saturday showed that, as if the rest of the season hadn't already), so I'd feel much better about things going with the guy leading the nation in total offense over the potential of his replacement.

Unless Gilbert needs to have his throwing arm amputated you start him against USF. There are zero teams in the country that we can just trot out our backup QB and expect an easy victory. Sounds like Gilbert will be fine for Saturday.

Looking back on this season it really is disappointing we haven't had an opportunity to get Burcham some significant snaps. Is the Harris kid from GA still expected to enroll in January?

Tough to argue with this level of naivete

Please Insert the June Jones Conference Away record here

I'll be ecstatic with a 1 point last second victory. That's how College Football conference road games go. UCF had to kick and scratch and crawl to beat both Temple and Memphis on the road. You need to get this truth in your head before you can understand college football. Look at SMU with a 17-2 home conference record over recent years. Totally different team on road

Since 2009:

Home Conference: 17-2 89%
Road Conference: 9-11 45% (includes CUSA Championship against UCF)

Interesting-playing the same programs SMU has been almost twice as likely to win at home as they are on the road

looks like what june is constantly preaching. win at home and hope to split on the road.

USF beat Cincinnati earlier in the season (albeit without scoring an offensive touchdown).

That said, we are dreadful on the road. You'd like to think we could handle a team with nothing to play for that has looked abysmal on offense all season.

I'll say SMU 31 USF 24

If anybody could do it, it's Burcham.

Burcham might well end up being a stud, but you don't sit down a team MVP with 3 games to go.

Hope Gilbert's OK, and hope he lights up the sky in Tampa!

Gilbert is the the biggest single game changer I've ever seen at SMU. We are 1-8 without him IMO.
