Then he should have fired JJ for cause. Instead RGT has just turned a blind eye. RGT is part of the problem. They should both be fired!
RGT answers to people, and most of those he answers to are paying June's salary. This isn't an RGT problem, it's a problem that lies with some of our uber-rich, out of touch power brokers
While what you say is probably true, if not for our uber-rich, out of touch power brokers, we would still be in CUSA with UNT and Rice right now.[/quote]
I don't disagree. Happy for them putting their money in to get the program out of the years of bottom 10 teams, but extremely disappointed in their lack of motivation to be anything more

It's a real good time to be a bitcher and moaner. Real good time. Conveniently ignore both where we've come from and the success we've had in the last four years (maybe even this year as the season's not over yet). Great time if you just like to hate. Jump on that opportunity real quick so that you can go silent when we start doing well again.

How was the Regatta this week? Could you give me quick synopsis of what happened at the Regatta-and a grade for each sailboat. By the way, I'd really appreciate it if we could keep the cute and cutting remarks about the Regatta to a minimum. Honest and fair reflections on the Regatta please

What is your point? Spell it out for me. I missed the game and went instead to a rowing regatta in Austin to support my son who is a varsity rower.

apparently someone doesn't like it when someone questions one's loyalty to SMU . Are you a Regatta homer? You've now missed in one year at least two more SMU home games than I have in half a CENTURY but you seem to love to question my loyalty.

When in the last five years did I question your loyalty?

wow - always easy to spend someone else's money, huh Calallen? Nobody is out of touch. They know exactly what they are doing - there just aren't many good options. Do you participate in the
4 million yearly pass the hat on our athletic dept deficiency? I didn't think so. that is why the Big East TV market news was such a gut punch - that was our exact athletic dept deficiency that went out the window.
Hope someone pulls a David Miller and takes over football. We need that kind of champion to find us the next staff that can work some magic to get higher level recruiting in here, so that we become a potential target to a conference (with our media market) for an expansion. Without that we are stuck where we are, at best.

RGT has a university to run, so I seriously doubt he spends any time or energy on football recruiting. Heck, I'd be surprised if he even attends the Feb. event on campus.

Agreed. If people seriously think attacking the CofC is the right course to take, then we are barely a step away from lunacy. SMU isn't big so once we start turning on each other, it won't take long before we reach the end.
