SMU network certainly aided me in my career. One of my best friends at SMU was able to put my name in for a position out of college that, per the job posting, required at least two years experience in the field. Without the rec from my friend, I would've never gotten the interview. That was seven years ago and I've been with the company ever since.
Thank you, Harry. Several on here take the bait every chance they get which makes them look foolish. But as soon as CK posts another negative SMU comment, which will be soon, SMT will drop down to his level by making an equally foolish post about a safety school, someone's job or junior college...which gives CK the satisfaction he's looking for. Not to mention it derails another thread that had nothing to do with them or UH.
btw, I applaud the mod for not blocking him. It's free speech and if we're stupid enough to continually feed the troll, we deserve his presence.

Enough with the attacks on the City of Houston. If snarky pretentiousness, affectation and self-delusion were the prerequisites for a great city, Dallas would rank number one. I've always said, people in Dallas may not remember your name, but they will remember what type of watch you had on.

Does Dallas even have a Chinatown?
CK,
Thanks for the advise.

YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT.
Dallas is a fun city and all... But I have experienced both, and prefer Houston. Much more of an international city with absolutely anything you want / any flavor you want.
SMU is BY FAR a superior school to UH....... But lets also remember, Rice is academically superior to SMU... But SMU is my school and I wouldnt have been happier anywhere else!
Yep. Houston is diverse, interesting and exciting, and like Chicago, it is a city of broad shoulders. One suspects Dallas' shoulders are padded by a tailor at N-M.

If one never ventures from the bubble, all one knows is the bubble.
Some SMU alums would do well to learn that thinking Dallas is all THAT is not a litmus test of SMU loyalty. After undergraduate and law at SMU, I couldn't wait to leave Dallas. Love SMU. Find Dallas pretty but shallow, petty and tiresome.

That couldn't be any further from the truth.
If there's any local college team DFW folks would claim, it's TCU
I don't think so. We have more support here than what you have in the city which your school bears its name! 2011: 6k fans being ranked in the top 25...lol

What are you talking about? I'm starting to believe that you really are mentally challenged.
