Gratitude is interesting, you either feel it or you don't. You can't guilt or convince anyone to feel it if it doesn't come from themselves.

Very true. Though others' gratitude can inspire you to share the sentiment.

I am not going to be able to attend due to travel, but these are the kind of conditions football should be played in and I am damn sad I won't be there to witness the Ponies upset UCF. Go 'Stangs!

Yep, weather is keeping me iced in as well. We have power atm, hopefully that will continue tomorrow, so I can at least watch the fball and bball games from home. Go ponies!

I am going for a quarter or two and than heading north to see the basketball team. The SMU fan in me hopes Gilbert plays, but he is our only NFL prospect this year, and I think it could be a bad idea for him in that regard. We don't win this one regardless - although UCF's trouble with USF did crack my hope door open a bit.

I found the board in interesting shape when I checked in - it looked more like the Mustang Athletics complaint department. Which is really rather brilliant, if you think about it... house your complaint department in an entity not actually connected to your business in any real way. Anyway...
My life has become immeasurably more enjoyable since I started to actively work on my gratitude in general, gratefulness for what I did have, rather than a constant focus on what I didn't have or the way I think things ought to be. Things are as they are. And I am grateful. I am grateful to have a warm abode (I won't be making it up to Dallas), a big TV, and an SMU game that means something to look forward to in the morning. Life is good.

I generally check my optimism and humbleness at the PF door. It seems, if you portray anger at SMU, then you're less likely to be sacrificed to the Peruna gods.
