7+. keep in mind that burcham will be the longest quarterback at SMU in the Jones era. he'll make the proper leaps and bounds during the spring to make him an efficient starter. Getting this experience the last few games of this season will be monumental for his development. Also the defense returns a majority of the starters and the offensive line gets to mature another year. We'll be just fine

Under.........no reason to think that the team will be any better than this year.

IMO losses are; baylor, tcwho, a&m, ntsu, houston, memphis, ucf and possibly tulane.
wins: usf (if we're lucky), tulsa, ecu and uconn.
that is assuming that we have the same disinterested coach.
NTSU, Memphis, Tulane are wins...
Somebody forgot to give that memo to Tulane in 2012. . . Or that possible was a game that June had "penciled in"

North Texas is losing a bunch of key starting players to graduation including the QB. They will struggle next year and we should beat them.

I will take the over. I see 7 but would say it is far too early for these type of predictions. I will continue to support the team, buy my tickets, attend the games, and cheer loudly. I may be discontent with some of the goings on but I dedicated myself to this school many years ago and will remain loyal. If and when I am in a position to help, advise, or take action to help I will do so.

More like 7+ losses- we struggled to get to 5 wins this year. The 'majority of the Defense returning' is the main reason why I think we'll struggle to win 4-5 games next year (Memphis, Tulane, Tulsa, USF, maybe UNT).

Under. I just don't see where we are really all that up and coming. Hope I'm wrong and everybody and tell me I'm dumb but don't see much improvement.

Under, 4-8 is likely. Defense will be bad and we won't have Gilbert or anything comparable at QB to save the day.

Burcham will be pretty good next year. I like how he played against UCF. Next year's schedule is not near as strong as this year's schedule. A block of cement could coach the team to 6 wins next year.

Burcham might be pretty good but he won't be good enough to make up for a bad defense, especially during the OOC part of the schedule. He's not a big time talent and he won't have a running game or a stable of reliable receivers to lean on. A lot of people are going to be shocked at how little talent there is on this team once we start playing the games.

They will beat UNT and win around 5 or so conference games. Is the Hawaii Bowl in play next year?

Hawaii Bowl isn't in play (at least not as a AAC tie-in) until 2015. As for the conference, we'll need a really favorable draw (like missing both UCF and Cincy) to get to 5 conference wins. Just like this year I don't know where all this talent to get bowl eligible is going to come from.
