That Vandy interview would be the shortest ever.

AD: How will you recruit exceptional student athletes to compete in the SEC

June: *wheels in overhead projector*

AD: Get out.

OR-See-Nee wrote:Let's keep a positive attitude about this, ladies and gentlemen. It's GREAT that our coach is being considered for other jobs. That shows our head coaching position is no longer a graveyard type position. In the past couple of years or so, our HC has been mentioned for jobs at Maryland, Arizona State, and now Vanderbilt. That's pretty awesome.

Fact: Franklin showed that he can recruit the caliber of athlete needed to compete (pretty decently) with an SEC schedule. If our WORST CASE SCENARIO occurs and June ends up at Vandy, all June needs to do is to slip in, install his innovative offense, and keep recruiting the same type of players that Franklin did. After those brilliant football players at Vandy learn his system in a couple of years, that team could be contending for one of the four playoff spots. THEN Jones will have extracted his revenge on college football and could retire on top.

Please Vandy, for the love of all that is good and sacred, keep your hands off our coach!

June won't be able to recruit like Franklin. It would be a bad move for Vandy to get June and not our worst case scenario. June can't even win 8 regular season wins in a weak AAC or CUSA so he definitely won't do it in the SEC. I know you have the abused spouse syndrome and think we can't do any better than June who talks negatively about SMU publicly but I believe we will be fine.

I think we should do a 180. I think we showed only write glowing things about JJ from this point forward. We don't want their fans to go into revolt like ASU's did. Let's get the mods to delete the past two months of threads. Let's make this the greatest selling job ever.

OR-See-Nee wrote:Gosh, I would hate to lose June Jones to Vanderbilt. He's done so much for the SMU program...but think about what he could do with a program with REAL resources. Vandy has a lot of money, no real "athletic director" JJ would have to report to, plays in a packed stadium most of the time, and winning 7-8 games a year is considered a success.

Vandy could do much worse than June Jones. Please don't go Junebug! Keep your hands off of him Vandy!

This is a joke, right? I wasn't sure.
The thought of JJ coaching in the SEC makes me laugh!

re: "Could June Jones be a candidate for Vandy Job?"

Do they have an assisted living center in close
proximity to Vandy for June's assistant coaches?

Yep -- Franklin is an energetic workhorse and a motivator. Both things June aren't.

Where is DeRuyter going? I thought Mason tried for that last year?

Pat Hill was fired by Atlanta recently.

Arkansas State hires a new coach every year. Eventually they will have to hire Jones.

I was just speculating he could be a candidate for the Vandy or Louisville jobs. He's done a great job at Fresno

Vandy just opened a multi purpose indoor facility that includes an IPF, JJ would love that.

Made up threads are amusing, as if this is a real possibility. Vanderbilt, if they did lose Franklin, needs another high energy HC, who recruits and sells a great insitituion. There is zero possibility JJ would be a candidate in Nashville. SMU is JJ's last destination, unless he goes back to Hawaii.
