the Cav's jersey the kid wears is an old Eric Snow jersey, which I don't have a problem with the kid wearing it.

Have you not been to a music festival recently all the hipsters are wearing retro nba jerseys?

retro NBA jerseys is the new thing these days. I love the mario bros, elf, penguin, and lobster. Classics because they are right behind the visiting coach. We have riled up 2 coaches in a row. I love it.

Also why are kids wearing Nuggets jerseys, Pistons jerseys, Falcons jerseys, etc? Do they not have SMU shirts? Don't get me wrong, I love that the students are fired up and excited, but get some SMU gear for the game, my God

The NBA jerseys are a head scratcher. Other than the MOB, not seeing much SMU - weird.

costumes are fun and hilarious. Those of you that keep bringing up student attire need to get the hell over it. Stop trying to be control freaks. Several national media outlets talked about how we literally were shaking the building, the floor, and their laptops. Pretty sure the costumes add to their rowdiness and intensity, because guess what, it means they're having fun

WHO CARES WHAT ANYONE WEARS!!! THEY SHOOCK THE F_CKING BUILDING!!!!!!!!

personally, I'd love to see a two person horse costume somewhere in there

I agree with everything you said. Especially the last part

Bus was wearing a fedora and a suit on for Cincinatti. Best part was the godfather tshirt he was wearing.

If you want to do a funny costume then fine. Again, I think the elf and lobster and that crew is hilarious and they're always right on top of the opposing bench. I just think it's dumb to wear a Nuggets jersey or a Falcons jersey; it's not clever or creative, it's just stupid. It's just as easy to wear an SMU shirt.

Again, it's awesome how pumped the students are for SMU games, but you don't see random NBA/NFL jerseys in the crowd at Duke and Kansas.

The costumes are amusing, attention grabbing, and contribute to the energy level. I've always been a school colors/logo guy, but I don't give a rat's [deleted] what others wear as long as they're there to support the team. If there's anything I don't like it's Greek letters, but those guys are some of our loudest fans so they get a 100% pass from me. (Plus I haven't seen the letters since Hofstra anyway...)

Every little minor pointless complaint I ever had is improving every single game, so I'm gonna keep my trap shut from here on out about these things.

Yeah, yeah - I agree. I didn't say I have a problem with Buddy the elf or Luigi, I just don't know how they decided on those costumes. The horse is a top notch idea. But c'mon, Elmo and Cookie Monster... red and blue...that's a good one.

All of us went to the games even back in the Doh years so we were just excited about the new stadium and the way the team was headed. The Elf came about because he wore it for our Christmas party last year with the midgets and people loved it. He decided to wear it to the UCONN game for fun and it took off from there. We decided on Mario and Luigi because that way we could make sure the other would go and not back out. There were a number of ideas that were tossed around (Jesus with a cup of water and a cup of beer, a priest, 2 hamburger helper hands that would act as high-fives when we had a great play etc etc). Essentially go to amazon search costumes and we pulled from there. Just wanted to be [deleted] up and have a good time with it. Seems like for some of you if you can't [deleted] about something you would have nothing else to do.

Just graduated this past May. I think the current student section is uniquely "SMU". Sure, it's nice to have one color, but I prefer our funny, diverse student section so keep it up!

Hmmm.. I do have an old blue 76ers Eric Snow jersey and a taco costume. Wonder if I should start wearing them.
