He played better but still had his issues. Specifically, KF tends to cheat off his man a step or two too much when the ball is on the opposite side. He also doesn't anticipate the swing pass well enough and ball watches a little bit too much. As a result KF is often slow to get out on the perimeter. KF was fortunate that his man was there 4 option and not looking to jack shots up. He played better, but still below average defense.

I like KF and am glad he is on the team and he makes meaningful contributions right now. He is a kid though that if he really works hard over the summer and fall on both ends of his game I could see him becoming legit star player. Kid is crazy athletic but needs to learn to turn that athleticism into beast mode on offense and defense.

Any chance Manual graduates early? I've never seen a guy miss so many layups. And I don't buy "he's a good defender" bulsh. I have not been impressed with his defense at all this year. He got burned repeatedly last night and was out of position and trailing his guy on multiple shots. He got burned so badly on a play in the first half he just grabbed the guy's arm and took the foul, even though he had help.

If he's not getting burned on defense, missing layups, or turning it over, he's getting rejected to half court.

Still has a ways to go, but last night was the first game I didn't see Russell continually pointing out to KF where he needed to be. To my untrained eye, that was a good indicator that he was at least in the correct general area.

either way, though, he had his best all-around game of the year last night. the crowd loves him. if he keeps playing like that, i'd be happy.

Manual is not my favorite player-but geez wait until he has a bad game to complain about him. Manual was all over the court last nite. He only played 11 minutes but had 8 points and 5 rebounds and every time he drove to the basket he picked up fouls. Yesterday was one of his best performances. There are guys all over this team that are making plays on defense, rebounding, assists and steals that maybe-no definitely have major offensive deficiences. SMU is winning because of these contributions

Quit watching, Manuel was one of the unsung heroes of last night. He's the reason house settled in and didn't torch us after the 12 minute mark. Theres a reason he had so many minutes so early, and defense was only part of it. Uh is super athletic and he helped neutralize the floor, after the starters basically showed nothing on either end of the floor. His stat line was excellent

I agree with this. We needed his athleticism against a team like UH. I think he played just fine - bouncy/springy/penetrator whatever you want to call it and even drained a 3.

As Stallion has said, he's a great athlete/not really a very good basketball player. Personally, I used to cringe every time he had the ball in his hands as a PG but I think we used him well last night.

That's what I liked most about that stat line. Also seemed to play pretty good D. Imagine if he had drained the 2 or 3 threes he bricked. :-)

Again, if he can stay in school, I think a full college offseason will work wonders for him to get his mind right and bulk up a little to have a "super soph" year.

And this isn't the first time this season either. Ryan gets a lot of undeserved hate.

Takes a team effort with these guys. If anything - Sterling wasn't quite as strong last night.

Funny thing is, I thought KF had his best all around game of the year last night and he didn't even hit a 3. Looks like he might be starting to get it, and seems to be having a lot of fun as well

There is a mini loop in it but good work! I myself do not know how to gif-itize anything.
