The Chang and Brennan years were pretty off the charts, stats wise.

Good enough for me and you? Maybe not. But I'm telling you he's not a guy who is motivated by cash. You think that, you don't know him.

I believe that. Everyone in DFW knows SMU is "back" in Football but we are not yet "legit". TCU experienced "legit" during their Rose Bowl era (which was their golden age and now it's over) and A&M/BU are going through the "legit" phase. We need a team to be as elite as Aggie and Baylor are right now...that's how you pack Ford and ask for money to expand it to 50k.

How are we back? We've gone 36-41 overall and 6-31 against winning teams the past 6 years. We suck less for sure, I'll give you that. June isn't some crazy turnaround artist who's done this a bunch of times. He did it once at Hawaii and only won two conference championships in 9 years. "Back" as you say, would be winning conference championships and not having people in DFW wonder if SMU is even an FBS program or not. I have legitimately been asked that by people that I worked with who had lived in Dallas for decades and were college football fans.

And your whole rhetoric of expanding ford to 50k is really tiresome. You've been spouting on about it since September and still don't get it. Any of the older guys on here will tell that even back in the pony express days, we only ever had 30-40K of our own fans at games.

For the record, I see us winning 3-5 games next year. If june somehow manages to win more, I'd be absolutely shocked and will also send ponyboy a fruit basket

We are only "back" in that we have at least elevated ourselves from Rice, UTEP, UNT, UTSA by being invited to The American. In terms of being back on the national scene we are not anywhere close to being "back". Our record against teams over .500 is atrocious (6-31) and in key non-conference matchups with our former SWC foes we've had our doors blown off damn near every time. This program is not back. It just isn't on death's doormat like it was 10 years ago.

Back as in we have a freakin football team at least that wins 7-8 games per season and was good enough to be brought into the AAC.
Back as in a powerhouse program? No, not yet.

Read the first post by Ponyboy where he talks about expanding Ford to 50k.

Stop being a ball of negativity, blackout...THAT IS TIRESOME

You know, if you read my posts on the bball boards, you'd see that I'm pretty positive when there's actually stuff to be positive about and only negative when there's stuff to be negative about. Sorta the way it should work if you're not a loony toon

I look forward to reading this board with a renewed vigor after we fire Jones midseason and we can finally start putting together a list of prospective coaches for 2015.

Obviously not or we would be kicking [deleted] on the recruiting trail.

I know. What gets to me is that when you do not agree with me on a post, you go all nuclear and negative on me. We are both SMU fans, I don't get why we cannot get along!

Ford Stadium will never be expanded to 50k, ever. So please quit [deleted] talking about it. If anything stadiums are going to downsize with advances in TV technology that making watching the game at home more enjoyable. Even if we moved to Big12/SEC the most we'd ever need is 40k, like Vanderbilt. We could always play marquee games at Cotton Bowl or Jerryworld

50K is just a placeholder...I would say we get somewhere around 40K but make it look nice and modern. Kind of what we did with Moody, in which we reduced capacity but remodeled it into a state of the art modern arena. At least make Ford look bigger and like a real stadium, not a high school playground that looks smaller than Allen's football stadium.
