Rebel10 *might* be a pedophile.
See what I did there?

If that is the case they probably did not know about his viewpoints. What public statements did he ever make to have you believe he was prejudice towards black people?

I didn't think a settlement indicated guilt but okay. I guess it was not publicized that much.

What was Sterling guilty of this time? Being a racist POS and not letting his mistress take pictures with minorities, which carries no civil or criminal liability? And that's somehow worse than denying people housing based on their race?
Actions > words, but that concept seems lost today
EDIT: Also, not publicized much? It was on ESPN for Christ's sake. In 2009. They've had public notice of it for almost five years

Also Elgin Baylor had a very public lawsuit against Sterling alleging racial discrimination but I'll stop presenting facts that torpedo whatever point you were trying to make

This truly is one of the most uneducated comments you will find on a university message board. What is a "joke" is that you can make your little flippant dismissive "NAACP is a joke" comment with seemingly no understanding of the landmark legal precedent won by the NAACP. To take your comment seriously perhaps you can elucidate on why precedents on segregation, lynching, poll taxes, rights of minorities to vote, Brown v. Board of Education/Separate But Equal, hell even Jerry Levias and other minorities admission to SMU and other colleges was a "complete joke with the best interests of no one in mind". Get off Fox News before it warps your mind.

So no examples in the past half-century immediately came to mind? Got it.
Go back to watching Ed Schultz, Stallion. I think he and you have a lot in common

ECM, while I do not know what the NAACP has been involved in recently I do know they helped a lot during the civil rights movement. Those comments seemed a bit harsh. Since you criticized them what did you or your parents do during the time of the civil right movement to help stop the discrimination against African Americans since you are so down on the NAACP?

Which in the interest of disclosure, Baylor did not win that lawsuit.

Grandfather quit his job at a well-known company in the 60s when they refused to a black man in town because of his race. That's the only story I know off the top of my head, I could call my aunt but she's about 95 years old and probably asleep right now. what about your family? Oh wait, I don't care because it's not relevant. Plenty of well-meaning people today may have had relatives who did some pretty backwards things, but that doesn't mean they can't call out institutions today because of their hypocrisy. Judge people on their own merits and their own actions. I can proudly say I advocated for a black member during fraternity rush at SMU and got a lot of crap for it at the time.
Donald Sterling has been known as a racist for YEARS- this isn't anything new- and yet the NAACP was giving him his SECOND lifetime achievement award (EDIT: alongside noted bigot Al Sharpton) next month? Sorry, that doesn't add up.

Fair point, but when one of the greatest players in NBA history accuses someone of racial discrimination, you'd think the NAACP might take notice. It wasn't like this was some random employee

After listening to the conversation on tape the conversation seems to indicated that some of Sterling's friends are racist as well.

If y'all think this is Sterling's first instance of saying/doing racist things, please read this.
You're welcome.
