The basketball bounce. In saying that, I'm not taking anything away from the staff. They worked hard and earned this. That said, I think basketball plays a role here. Kids see that SMU can be good at something and want to be a part of it. Doesn't matter the sport.

Some quality offers. Had a TCU offer. Not sure how much the Frogs were pursuing but still. Good for us!

TCU currently has four WR commits. The train may have left the station but that is beside the point. He has several quality offers.

you are predicting 8-9 wins. Really? you realize these recruits don't show up until 2015, right?

It's a helluva pickup. Class is looking good.

At the risk of sounding like an apologist, I have to say our early verbals are looking nearly as good as the revered 2012 class before it fell apart post ASU/Klemm. And, the locals have to appreciate that 5 of our guys are Texans.

How many scholarships do we have left for 2015?

That class collapsed because it was a paper tiger to begin with. Most of those kids were from California and the thing was a shoe string effort by one completely unethical guy (Klemm) who tried to undermine June who tried to undermine SMU.

The difference is that these kids are from Texas (except Kearns). SMU appeared to do its homework. This is giving the appearance that this is a complete staff effort.

In addition to this special commitment, I know for a fact that Jason Phillips is also very pumped that we're getting O.J. Clark. Add McCrary, and we are really talking about something.

And the SOC Golden Bear too.

ESPN has us doing much better than our conference mates. True? Of course it's too early to celebrate. But seems good so far.

McCrary and Proche look like they could be immediate impact players. Also love the size on the OL commit from the Houston area. Would love to see us get some edge rushers and continue to bolster the offensive line. So far this is much, much better than the last couple of years.

I realize that. Our team is way better than what you all think and this recruiting class will be one of the best we have had post DP.
