He's back with a 6-6 season and a bowl IMO- especially if this recruiting class sticks.
If we make a bowl this year, I think expectations will be high for 2015: Junior QB (either Davis or Burcham) returning as a starter, entire OL returning, entire WR corp returning sans Der'Rikk, and on defense probably returning seven starters (Wright, Sanders, Nwosu, and Barnes graduating).
EDIT: acutally, probably returning six starters on D. Greenbauer graduating That Baylor game at Ford to kick off 2015 could be fun. They'll be breaking in a new QB next year
We'll see. If we sign a recruiting class that is among the best in the G5 and make a bowl, I don't have a problem with June & Co. returning in 2015.

We have a solid history with QB's with little to no experience..............

Whoever that QB at Baylor is for next year's opener ought to have Johnny footballs number on speed dial.

Calling Baker Mayfield.

or Baker Mayfield's
Still drives me nuts nine months later that Mason played our DBs way off the Tech receivers and just let them dink and dunk their way down the field for three quarters. I would've been aggressive with their receivers and hoped a WALK-ON freshman QB would make some mistakes that translated into turnovers

1- half-ass recruiting for a couple of years because you don't care and you're going elsewhere at the end of your K
2- as your K is coming to an end, find out no one else wants you
3- sign a half-ass "extension" because you have no alternative and the school can't afford to buy you out
4- recruit like hell and bring in several key transfers
5- pray that you squeak by with 6 wins and another meaningless bowl
6- sign a "real" extension because many of the COC members are happy with mediocrity
7- go back to half-assing it for a couple of years
8- retire to Hawaii

I think Rick HArt has made it pretty clear that half-assed recruiting efforts are not going to be acceptable. Hence, the DFW and Houston recruiting "blitzes" and consequently a solid start to the 2015 class.
Rick may have the hold June's feet to the fire to recruit, but in terms of game preparation and actual coaching knowledge I think he's one of the best around and certainly as good of an Xs and Os coach as anyone in the AAC.

Exactly. But if he hits 6 wins, and gets an extension, he could give two sh!ts at that point, and will ride off into the sunset.

I think June used the 11-3 record in Hawaii for 2006 after a 5-7 year card to get his extension. Kinda like drug addicts tell their loan sharks to give them another week to come up with the 10k they owe them.

No, smart aleck. Four straight bowls from 2009-2012 did.

IMO it doesn't matter what he does next year. I think if he returns there will be even less fans in the stands the next year. The AD can crow all he wants about 2k new season ticket holders but IMO when it comes to 'butts in the stands' there will be a lot less.
What is the old adage? - figures don't lie but liars figure.
When he (tiki god) can recruit and produce wins like LB then he will deserve some credit. Until then, none is due.

^ If we somehow beat TCU or are in contention for the AAC towards the end of the season I think we will see decent crowds. And like I said earlier, if we're respectable this year there will be high expectations next year with almost all of the offense and the majority of the defense returning .
