Yeah that's the feeling I get as well. Sounds like the NCAA was onto him. I guess you could make the argument that his commitment to SMU raised some eyebrows w/ the NCAA but if they really wanted to nail SMU they could've kept their investigation under wraps until the season started and then hit him with ineligibility and, potentially, additional sanctions against SMU. If anything, this sounds like the NCAA was isolating Mudiay from SMU.

Remember we got that hardship waiver approved for Shawnbrey McNeil so it's not like they're constantly on an SMU witch hunt. The NCAA has bigger problems on its hands -- like its future existence.
