silly article. just get rid of cronyism and replace with good leadership. not sure how to do that but "models" can always go awry if you've got bad leadership

It is simple. SMU needs people who are passionate about their university, no matter what the age or financial status. A small alumni base and an even smaller one living in north Texas make that even more important. To bring fans they need to change their opinions of themselves from one that is exclusive to one that is inclusive! Nobody likes snobs except other snobs.

While it's probably true most of the under-40 crowd don't have the resources of their older alumni, they do have something that the older (generally speaking) don't have or use; receptiveness to social networks and crowd funding.

Agree with you, this is our program too. We need to be completely inclusive with our alumni and welcome them into fanhood, whether delusional or not everyone is welcome.
