"Agree 100%. Prior to joining the Big 12, we were TCU's best geographical rival. That talking point was blown apart and it was even more painful that the Big 12 announcement came within a week of us beating them in Fort Worth in 2011. They may consider us a rival for the next few years but as a new generation of fans adjusts to TCU in the Big 12 they will form rivalries with Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor, OU, and OSU and we will fade into the background.
Want proof? How many TCU fans are here on PonyFans talking smack about the game? Anyone remember FROGS BY WHATEVER THEY WANT? I would rather have that than crickets. Sigh... I miss 2010 and 2011."
Go Frogs!
Rivalries swing back and forth. Having endured the DickerJames years, the past decade has been sweet. Hoping this lasts on into the next century.

As a TCU fan, I hear occasional complaints about this game every year. Why do we play SMU? We have nothing to gain and everything to lose... They're a drag on our SOS... Blah, blah, blah.
And then we schedule a game against Grambling, SE Louisiana, Samford, or the like every year. So these complaints about SMU are just people b!tchin.

Personally, I don't care about TCU. Other than them being in Forth Worthless, I don't see the relevance. We kill them in bball and they drop us like cowards will again beat their sorry [deleted] in fball once we hire our new guy. They are a [Deleted] school that got into a P5 (good for them) because fball team was good at winning when they weren't in P5.
The rivalry, like the school, is irrelevant.

They still have a huge inferiority complex over at TCU (Fort Worth in general) towards SMU and Dallas. The hate is still there on both sides.

I'm surprised the mods don't get tired of you defending one of you alias's with your other ones.

Iron Skillet Info:
TCU leads by 6 games (46-40-7)
SMU has the streak at 15 (1972-1986)
If you ask me, this is
still a rivalry and will
always be a rivalry. SMU has had their moments and TCU has had theirs. We will be good again, pretty soon after the new coaching change. If we were to show no effort or commitment to football I could understand this argument, but we will probably be spending more money on our program than some P5 schools. It would be stupid for either school to downplay or try to get rid of the rivalry.

Last year we "killed them in basketball" playing at home by a total of six big points.

TCU could've gone to two more BCS bowls in the past nine years if they could've just scored more points than we did (2005 and 2011)

I care about TCU. I definitely want to see this rivalry continue (and to become competitive). I have my doubts whether it will continue though, which is sad. If Texas and A&M could be allowed to die, then there is certainly no reason why it couldn't happen to SMU/TCU.
