SMU defeats Texas A&M 13-7!!!

The Mustangs won reining 4-1 with points from Keagan Snively, Jaclyn White, Hannah McCain, and Morgan Redwine. Redwine posted the high score in reining with her 70.5.

This was a nice, solid performance for SMU, with consistent rides across the board.

The most impressive part is winning both hunt seat (6-4) and western (7-3) against a top program like A&M.

“This was a huge win for us,” first-year head coach Carol Gwin said. “We did very well in both hunt seat and western. There were a few mistakes but we were good enough to beat a talented Texas A&M squad. I’m really excited for the team and how hard they worked for this win.”

I went out and watched the ladies. Nice job over a good A&M team. And yes the Aggies had a crowd and were quite vocal just like football. Our girls took care of business and Ponied Up!
