Seems like more than a year ago cause we came so far. A distant memory.

Will there be more people at the basketball game than the football game?

I wouldn't get tense about red seat attendance tonight - but as we get into the season I think it is fair to criticize if they aren't there. If I was Rick I would literally take attendance - and reduce points if the seats are empty.

If we are trying to be a big time program you just cant have the camera showing empty seats during the game in the lower bowl. If they cant come and cant be bothered to make sure they are full, they should forfeit the seats when we reseat the arena.

I am some what hopeful that the SMU men's basketball teams has become a hot enough ticket that red seaters who can't make it can and will be able to give there tickets to friends/family when they are not going to use them. It is still a new phenomenon that non SMU people are actually interested and will take a ticket.

Since it is Lamar I can see some going there over the game but if SMU were playing Kentucky or someone like that then I am pretty sure that they would be at the game.

Further proves my point. We'll never be big time until our "fans" want to come see our team no matter what.

Ponyfans - someone always has to find a negative. F it, just enjoy the G D game and don't worry about Fball or attendance in the red seats or MK eligibility for Jack Lord's sake. At least for 1 day!

I really don't get how this matters. If you donate 5K per seat for a season and then pay for the season tickets on top of it, I couldn't give a rat's [deleted] if you sat in them or not if I'm Rick. He runs an athletic department, not a beauty contest. When you shell out that kind of money, you get privileges that others don't and you sure as hell don't need to be in your seat every game if you don't want to be. I would stop worrying about it. I watched EVERY SINGLE HOME GAME on TV last year and not once did I ever think to myself that "the red seats are empty tonight. SMU fans must not give a [deleted] about their team." You can't even tell. And the few that are open, any person halfway logical watching TV would easily assume they're in the restroom, getting food, in some club, ect.

Sorry to go off, but I'm just sick of listening to people complain about the red seats when they're some of the highest donors. Unless you're going to pay out the 20K or whatever to replace them, shut up is how I feel about that.

Reunion parties aren't going to be a problem. Been in Dallas twelve hours and everyone is planning on or can't get tickets to the game.

There is 54 Tix left on StubHub and I imagine there will be scalpers in front of Moody.
