He quit once we descended to the worst team in the country?

We finally bought him out, thereby ending and losing the Mexican standoff.
But the real answer is he authored yet another amazing turnaround story at SMU. Four bowls games in six years, three bowl wins. Got SMU into a better conference. Got SMU back into the national consciousness. Helped get Larry Brown here.

pboy- think you left out a couple of things:
-left SMU with the worst season record since DP
- successfully knocked-up one of the vball players at Hawaii
at least if he goes to vegas he will have plenty of booze available for he and his family.

Why did JJ get sideways with the SMU administration? Why is LB now getting sideways with the SMU administration? Has Chad Morris corrected the problem as part of the terms of his coming here?

Are you saying that JJ did good in recruiting since his better years were with mostly Bennett recruits? What about the hispanic standoff he had with local coaches?

He's evil, decrepit. A sad example of humanity. Whatever you want to believe, believe it. Not the question. Does his system work?

What about what the area high scroll coaches said about him. Does that work in recruiting?
No, you could see what was coming a mile away but you had your nose so far up
Jones until you could not see it. Stallion accurately predicted what was happening years before it happened. Self and Calipari got Brown here not Jones. He was beating bad teams so it looked like his system worked but it really wasn't as you can see now.

Any system will work with the proper athletes. If you do not recruit, no system will work.

But it did. Four bowl games. He only stopped his "talent acquisition methods" once the Mexican standoff ensured around the time of the ASU debacle.
