Any momentum was killed by announcing What a Shot promo results. Band played a modern song the name of which I don't know, but students were dancing. Then Gary Glitter "Hey" song was piped in. Honestly, students seemed to respond more to the band song than "Hey."
Would be nice if the DJ would start Hey song closer to the Hey chorus so that that part is actually arrived at during the timeout
If the band isn't creating any enthusiasm then they aren't needed. I get that game presentation sucks - it does. But if the band isn't pulling anyone up from that, then at best it is flatlining the place & at worst bringing it further down. Not great either way.
Usually, the team that scores the most points wins the game - John Madden
I cannot blame the band for killing the momentum - they take a lot of undue blame. But they were really low energy tonight I thought. I couldn't put my finger on it. We're they playing to concert-esque or maybe the tempos were a bit too slow?
they don't play with any volume, it's like a tea party... the seniors last year taught them nothing at all. They don't yell at all, it's really weird..
And the DJ is NOT the same, not even close to last year. Gimme a break. Not a chance.

I'm blaming finals week stress. I'm certainly tired this week at work with finals this week. Lot's of engineers with hard tests in there.
It's simply pxss poor from start to finish on the entire game presentation, and Tommy Tucker (band) and Rick Hart ([email protected]) need to hear about it. More excitement at a funeral. How do you botch it so bad from one year to the next? Oh, and get ready to Pony Up extra for this slop next year. Do we ever hold anybody accountable?

Part of their enthusiasm problem is how they are configured. The saxes in the front are less than excited to be there. The brass (especially the trombones) are very into the game. Put the brass in front and the band looks a lot more energetic.
Agree about song selection. Not good

The % of girls is no higher than it was pre-Don Hopkins. The culture is different, clearly. You can see every one of them is generally sober. Echos of the MOB problem.
Last year it was full of students, players' girlfriends and family with signs and they were loud and fun. Tonight it was five dudes sitting with their feet up on the benches.

This.
@DM great recap. Glad someone tracked the programming. I really just don't understand how you can nail it one year and then do a 180 and f it up so bad the next.
