QB @ChasonVirgil5 a fan of #GoDogs coaches, vibe. "It just felt like home, and that's big for me being so far away."
https://twitter.com/DamonSayles/status/ ... 4599563264"I love the coach and players," Virgil said of Fresno State.

Totally baffling to say the least.
I wonder what the committee thinks.

Don't ever get too tied to a single recruit in recruiting-go out and find a better one. Recruiting is worse than baseball-if you bat .200 in Football recruiting you belong in the Hall of Fame.

Disappointing, but I'm strangely curious to see what HCCM could do with Davis. Heck, he made Tajh Boyd look sensational, let's see what he can do with Davis.

Davis wasn't a very good thrower at the JUCO level either. I'm just not sure he's a QB. Terrific athlete but not a great thrower.

I agree, at this point he has not developed much as a passer (56.6 comp % at Juco, 54.3 comp % at SMU), but Tajh didn't look too swell his first couple years at Clemson - didn't break 60% completion rate until his Jr year.

As I stated before, I never thought he was a primary target. We need guys to come in NOW and compete yesterday with Davis (as stated before, I think Davis will do fine, but we need competition). Virgil is coming off of injury and I don't think he plays next year. He was going to be in a situation where we would bring in 1 - 2 OTHER quarterbacks in this class (the second a JUCO) while he redshirted. And he would potentially be recruited over in the next class on top of it. That is why I never saw him coming here.

I continue to believe it has a lot less to do with his arm than it does with his head, See his completion % should be thrown out because there are no routes designed for 6-7 seconds after a triple somersault and running around in circles for 5 seconds. In fact, his completion % is not that bad considering that by the time he releases the ball the wide receivers are free-lancing. The % I'm concerned about is the unbelievable high % of balls he doesn't not release the ball on time despite 4-5 receivers. That's just confusion. We got a good Coach to try and straighten him out though. I've rarely seen a QB who has less confidence in his arm-I think he needs to trust the receivers and let it go as designed
