he wasn't even going to play offense at SMU. If anything he was going to be a DB

Have you seen his higihlights? Didn't look overly impressive, but quick and good vision. Definitely could have found a role for him in Morris' offense I don't recall seeing anything outstanding as far as hands skills though
He doesn't have the speed or size for a role in Morris' offense. Now that spot can go to a future contributor.
Guess I should have specified what I meant...by role player I meant career back up, but good for a few catches here and there. But yes I agree. Looks like myron gillaird (spell) and Christian Williams are the only receviers left from June's class (I'm not counting proche...). Any thoughts on them? Myron is tiny but maybe he can fill that scat/slot role? Christian Williams is 6'0...haven't seen either of their tape

Morris will be using Williams at safety.

Too small and too slow, he's already being recruited over.

Just assumed he was fast because June likes small and fast receivers. so is this our next decommitment?

Williams also got the chance to talk with his position coach, Jess Loepp.
"He sees me as a safety that can play boundary side. He says I'm more athletic than most safeties are so they think I can play with more exposure to field and go up against top receivers," Williams said. "(Loepp)'s great, I talk to him a lot. He's been there for me, he's going to be one I stick with for a long time."

He was fast enough for June (not saying much) but there's no way Morris would have ever offered him had he not already been in the class. He won't decommit on his own at this point but he's not going to see the field here.

I believe we will have some more good news in the running game this weekend. A 2,000 yard rusher that is choppin' at the bit to commit to SMU. Notice the difference between June's 5-10 recruits and what Morris is looking for. Morris wants home run speed and excellent running potential because players all over the field are used in the running game in multiple positions in the spread. June on the other hand preferred FBs or NGs in the running game

I hate June Jones. How did we put up with that switching NGs to RBs crap? Ugh still makes me so mad!

Best of luck to the kid and, hopefully, he gets on somewhere with a scholarship and gets his education and degree. Any chance to get a useful degree and bring that knowledge and financial growth back to South Oak Cliff is a good chance worth supporting.

Yep, Xavier Jones next. Nitpicking, but based on film available his actually looked better than West, Imho. Also looks a bit bigger/thicker as he runs over and thru some tacklers. Maybe even a 1/4 step quicker/faster.
Their Hudl pages show: Jones - 5'11", 180, 4.46
West - 5'11", 168, 4.52
These #'s would seem to match their highlights pretty well. Add Castille to these 2 and you've got some serious quick twitch talent, speed, elusiveness and toughness.

Looking at some of the recruits speed, HCCM is secretly building a men's track team
