Note that pony pride has started 27 threads that sit on the first page on other sports. They have a combined 37 comments. Certainly there is room for lacrosse discussion among the other sports.

SMU 7
USC 6
Close game the whole way. SMU killed a 3 minute non-releasable penalty at the start of the 4th which gave them all the momentum.
UCLA is next.

No argument about lacrosse being a great sport - I played (although badly) and love it. You're right that lacrosse brought views/comments to the OTHER SPORTS page, and am looking forward to the traffic it brings here. It's not a matter of comparing one sport to another. The plan has been to move club sports discussions to this board for some time and leave the other for varsity/NCAA sports, but have let other things get ahead of it on the to-do list. Lacrosse is a great sport, and if it gains NCAA varsity status at SMU, it will be moved back to the OTHER SPORTS board. Until then, it will add extra interest and life to the AROUND THE HILLTOP board!

SMULaxer,
I've been hearing that the open area south of the Bush Library will be a lacrosse field. Is it reasonable to assume we are moving to D1A lacrosse?

SMU's Club Sports > SMU's non-revenue varsity sports.

Not so fast my friend,
I love lacrosse, especially since my son played LAX for SMU. However, despite the lack of a natatorium for practicing, competing and recruiting, Swimming & Diving remains one of the top sports at SMU. Soccer remains a priority and very competitive.
So, I would love lacrosse to get even better, but Varsity status for non-revenue programs is preferred. (In a perfect world, LAX would be Div. 1 for Men and Women)

So you don't approve of our recent investment on Mockingbird?
to me, Swimming and Diving, Soccer, Tennis and Golf should all be Top 20 programs.
