Has SMU ever recognized that Team? Its our only Regular and Tournament Champion team plus the quality NCAA Tournament victory. Probably the most satisfying season in Half of a Century. Kato should be in the SMU Hall of Fame

Kato was fantastic to watch - one of SMU's best ever.

Love these quotes:
`Kato has the knack of following our defensive player down the court,``

said Phelps. ``It`s hard to pick him up. It`s almost like a running screen. By the time you catch up to him, he`s shooting the ball.``

``They got back on defense,`` Armstrong said, ``but they had their backs turned to me. I took advantage of that.``

Maybe SMU will honor that team next year, after honoring the Koncak team this year. Though I TV it is one of my favorite SMU sports memories. Armstrong schooled David Rivers.

As a ND hater, it doesn't get better than beating ND on St. Patrick's Day in the NCAA Tournament.
An atheist is a guy who watches a Notre Dame-SMU football game and
doesn't care who wins.

Seems like smu honored that team in the WAC 16 days when Bliss brought UNM to Moody.
