MK tweeted this:

"Seriously what student can type 6 pages for one class after playing a basketball game and flying for 5hrs? #nottomentiontheother4classes"

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this, but I found it interesting and didn't want to create a new thread just for this.

Saw that, too. Not his first tweet complaining about school work. But usually 6 pagers are assigned well in advance.

Students vent on Twitter these days. You can't read much into it.

As a teacher, my first reaction is, when was the paper assigned? My students get all assignments at the beginning of the semester.

6 pages will get you a Masters degree and a PhD at UNC.

Sorry - couldn't help it...

As a procrastinator deluxe myself, regardless of when the assignment was made, I feel for MK.

I feel for him as well. It is definitely a learning experience. His hashtag references the four other classes. I guess my initial question would be why is he taking five classes this semester? Seems like four would be plenty. Probably has something to do with progress towards a degree. Another learning experience I suppose. Got to keep up because once you fall behind things just tend to snowball from there. I know from being there myself.

Maybe he could start by putting the phone down?

Yes, that thought did cross my mind as well but it seems as though it does not with the younger generation. Phone/social media before anything else mentality.

I feel for him too, but if the assignment was made months ago, making the comment that all that is due the night before is not a legit excuse.
