some clichés are clichés because they are true.
Lets just leave it that people who are used to getting their way, complain like stuck pigs when they don't. The next student life officer will have to tell the little ones they can't do stuff they want to do, and then everyone will be immediately unhappy.

Student Life head is also supposed to put programs in place to unite the campus with activities for students. From what I could tell, Lori White proved woefully inadequate in that area.

I wondered if it had something to do with SMU transitioning to the residential college model.

Hopefully she'll learn Chinese, as now 35 % of the student body at Wash U. is oriental. They (Wash U.) have been able to charge the full boat tuition to the Asian/Pacific clientele; and now they say they are going after more "local" minorities, because the school can now afford to dumb down admissions and receive less tuition money.

Seems like 35% is overstated
https://registrar.wustl.edu/enrollment- ... diversity/Ethnicity
Over 40% of WUSTL students identify with a nonwhite ethnic or racial group or international population. New federal reporting categories have enabled us to capture more detail on the race and ethnicity of our nonwhite, multiracial and international students.
Among those students reporting racial and ethnic affiliations (noting that students are able to report an affiliation with more than one group):
5.3% are Hispanic or Latino,
0.8% are American Indian or Alaska Native,
25.6% are Asian,
6.7% are black or African American,
0.1% are Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander,
53.1% of our students are white and not multiracial,
(9.3% are unreported).
International student enrollment is now 16.3% of our total enrollment.

I think that's old data that was shown. They've been called out by the local daily and admitted they went for the full tuition student; which took Wash U. well over the 25+% level for Asian students. It's also evident as I travel by or on the "Danforth Campus" daily, and live next to the Wash U./ Barnes hospital Center, in the Central West End of STL.

Asian does not necessarily mean international. Lots of Asian-Americans

Agreed, however the full boat tuition payers are mostly internationals. Ever once in a while one reads an article about a Korean Wash U. student falling to his death off campus, or the muggings of many Chinese students, who live off campus , to the north, which is a sketchy area. Wash U. tries mightily to keep these stories out of the local news.

http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/docs/USCFreshmanProfile.2014.pdfSame percentage as USC which is on the coast, so clearly Wash U is going after cash to help be as need blind as possible.
http://www.hillel.org/college-guide/search#radius=10&select=top6020% at Wash U are estimated to Jewish as well. 25% or more percentage wise at Ivies except Dartmouth, Brown and Princeton. UT at 9% and SMU peer school, Emory, is at 27%.
Get ranked in the top 15/20 and you can draw international students and maybe [generalization] other full paying Asian students wanting best college available.

Anthony Tillman, currently an associate provost at SMU, was married last year to Dr. Lori White, SMU’s vice president for student affairs. Tillman and White were married at the First United Methodist Church in Dallas but seriously considered Perkins as the place to hold their sacred ceremony.
It appears so.

I heard they were a package deal when she came. I suspect they are both heading to St Louis now. Maybe his job can be part of a reduction in administrative staff.
