Relax. The kid is from the Houston area. It would be pretty alarming if he went to Plano East or Southlake Carroll and spurned us for the Coogs. The fact is we are still a 1-11 program with a lot of unknowns. They are doing a very good job of locking down some prominent Houston area talent. It is going to take some time for us to go toe to toe with them in their own backyard and win some of these recruiting battles. We signed a better class than Houston last year with barely a month and a half of time to recruit. Let this thing play out. Houston would've loved to sign the DFW kids we got last year like James Proche, Kevin Thomas, Xavier Castille, Delontae Scott, Michael Scott, Chris Biggurs, and Hunter Herndon.redpony wrote:We may be making a lot of effort but the results are certainly not impressive. How pathetic to be losing top level recruits to a scum/slum vocational school on the bayou. Wonder how much the h.s. coaches are really helping one of their own. Sort of reminds me of a 'local' bball coach we hired at the urging of his fellow h.s. coaches. We all know how that turned out. OK- rant over.
Well said StallionsModel T. Houston has got some new sells points like a new coach and a new stadium. They are also selling 'Houston stays in Houston' (or something like that). That campaign will help them in their own backyard. However, thats exactly what SMU coaches are doing in North and Northeastern Texas. "A TANK OF GAS" concept. My hope is that both SMU and Houston take talent away from the Big 12 and SEC. Of course I also want to see us beat the 'stuffings' out of Houston every time we play.StallionsModelT wrote:Relax.
