Screw Herman. Can I get you a Cougars t shirt, dad?
Grrrrr.......sure, if you'd like to. Leave it at will call window for Houston game and we'll donate to a needy Cougar fan.
This race against Herman is going to be a great one. Houston will obviously admit more of the borderline, higher end recruits, so Morris and crew have their work cut out for them. Should be fun to watch.

Football dad - have you been asleep during basketball season? SMU will admit the exact same kind of athlete and student as Houston. We have no extra restrictions. That was June's way of covering for his laziness, that Larry brown exposed. Let's stop with the fakes characterization of SMU requiring anything extra. It is false.

Herman is getting some great talent around the Houston area to stay local.
Sounds like what Coach Morris did last year in getting the following DFW kids to stay at SMU:
Xavier Castille (Rockwall) - OK State, Washington, Kansas, Houston, UConn, Memphis, Nevada
Kevin THomas (DeSoto) - Clemson, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Nebraska, Wake Forest, Wisconsin
James Proche (DeSoto) - Louisville, Maryland, Houston, TCU, Colorado State, Wake Forest
Hunter Herndon (Forney) - Oklahoma, Rice, UNT
Michael Scott (Irving) Cal, Colorado, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Minnesota, TCU
Delontae Scott (Irving) Cal, Colorado, Iowa, Minnesota
All of that with a month to recruit and inheriting a 1-11 team. When and if Herman starts to kick our tail for kids here in DFW then I'll worry. As of now he's doing a great job in his city. Coach Morris is doing a great job in ours.
That's not to mention flipping UH commitments QB Ben Hicks, RB Braeden West, and OL Bryce Wilds last year.

I'm pretty sure footballdad was awake during basketball season because he went over to the basketball board to talk [deleted] about our hoops program, too.

Wide awake. Football & Basketball.....Apples & Oranges
Both might be operating under the same admission guidelines but led by different coaches, much different rosters, and different pressures. As the entire world knows, Larry likes to bend the rules as far as possible so we know he will reach further than Morris into the sketchy pool. Maybe he's learned his lesson with Keith, maybe not. ONE player can make all the difference in basketball, not nearly as much in football. Many more recruiting opportunities in football vs. basketball. One & done in hoops, not so in football. Etc, etc
Morris has to sell the SMU academics as an advantage and certainly should do so. Recruit the top 'smart' athletes and dominate that niche like a Northwestern, Stanford, etc. Results will be better kids that cause less trouble and stay in the program 4-5 years and actually graduate. Plenty of very good Texas players that fit the bill. Let Houston chase the borderline kids and jucos.

I think I've made 2 comments on the hoops board......EVER. Big fan of Larry and the team.
I don't want to upset the sensitive guys like East Coast with any comments about how quickly the recruiting will fall off once Larry leaves the program. It's OK, just enjoy it while it lasts.

Like. We will make some noise with this class and especially the next, I predict. Chad Morris is the 'preacher man' and his disciples will net the goods.

10 commitments
about 67 Division 1A offers (some of these services haven't listed all offers)
7 commitments with 3 stars from one of the 3 major recruiting services
6 commitments with P5 offers
No. 46 on 247 Team Rankings

And 6 of them already have P5'offers. Incredible.
And to put that into perspective, only 16 kids that Morris inherited had at least 1 P5 offer.....

And we still have around 15 more to go...this will be a full class. At this rate we could expect around 15 of the recruits to have power offers and all to have FBS offers.

We can sign 27 since we only signed 23 last year (don't forget Johnson as a late add), so 17 more.
I'll go with 14 have P5 offers in the end, since that's one more than the 13 that wouldn't.
Look at me being all positive and stuff.
