There doesn't seem to be issues regarding reading routes and such, but they do have problems with helmets not being worn in properly before games.
I get that most people here like the traditional look and all but our uniforms don't look that good. I understand keeping it simple but at least put a stripe on the shoulder sleeve or something. Nobody is saying go all Oregon. Also the font is horrible and the material looks like practice jersey quality. I prefer the red jerseys but also like the blue ones and you can alternate with that. Like it or not this is what appeals to the recruits these days.

You're right. Hard to argue with "classy".
You are getting classy confused with simple and plain (and we have that for our base uniform so chill dude). Nothing wrong with simple and plain but the blue helmets are sharp.

I would rather listen to the story of the pitch from Little Rock to Dallas and back than see those stripes on the shoulders again.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand

Was just giving an example. Just saying we can do a little more with the uniforms than having them look like practice jerseys.

The Garrett Gilbert striped jerseys were awful. Our current ones are excellent and I enjoyed the chrome red helmet they added last year to make the psuedo-60s era throwback look. Will be interested to see how the Patriotic Pony look turns out on Saturday.

Again I am not referring to past jerseys and how they did the stripes was just talking in general. There are different ways you can do it to make it look good like other schools do. I think both our original helmet and the new chrome red ones are nice. Also weren't we supposed to have new uniforms this year what happened with that?

Welcome to the board PakiMustang91..
What SMU is currently rolling out is the near perfection that most of us on PonyFans have been clamoring for. Gone are the red jerseys with the hideous shoulder stripes. Mixing in the gray pants and red chrome and patriotic helmet are turning the young fans on I believe, and I admit they look great as well. I think SMU has nailed it from all angles on the Uniform. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.
And stripes on shoulders sleeves worked alot better back when the players actually wore sleeves, they always seem to come out tacky looking now that the jerseys are so form fitting under the shoulder pads.
