Hot reads probably aren't going to happen on a delayed blitz - it isn't exposed until the original route is being run. From a playcalling standpoint, you want to call quick slants into that space, or hold the H-Back and RB in the pocket to block and open up the deep ball, or run a middle screen to take advantage of vacating the space. I'd like to see the middle screen.

We could ask them to yell "ALL OUT!" before they blitz as a show of good sportsmanship.

Let them blitz. Run some screens and slants.

True, but green dogs usually occur once the RB or Hback doesn't come out so the blitzer gets out of coverage and comes late. I saw HCCM check out of plays when he saw blitz so I'm guessing it's for draws or short routes to get the ball off quicker. The interior Oline definitely needs to get better though. If a guy comes up the middle untouched it's hard to run anything.

On at least 2 of those CD blitzes in the USF game the receiver points at the CB creeping in towards the line and ran a short route. Davis either didn't see it or didn't understand it.

yep Davis on at least 2 occasions missed hot rushers-he has to at least check pre-snap if they might be coming
