Colbert should start for remainder of season.

I like Colbert a lot. Obviously the coaches have a little more insight than me but I certainly am comfortable when Colbert goes in.

What is? Keeping the QB position open for competition at this point makes all the sense in the world. We have nothing to play for accept getting better and preparing for next season...I want our best players at every position to start next year and finding out who those are in real games is the best way to do it.

Why don't they alternate series?
No wait, even the great Tom Landry couldn't pull that one off.

The book is out on Davis. He's one read and done. Teams are spying him and doing everything they can to take away Courtland Sutton.
I agree that Colbert should be given a shot the rest of the season. He has good pocket presence and keeps his eyes downfield. Also a pretty nice arm.

So a question going forward (like next year) - what type of running ability does Hicks have?

I believe Hicks would get swallowed up with the o-line we have right now. Doubt he can scramble like Davis or Colbert. What was so bad about the pick Davis threw was he totally locked onto Gaines and telegraphed where he was going to throw the ball. Colbert on the other hand looked poised and quick and he threw the ball well too. Made a lot of us wonder why he didn't play some in the second half.

Definitely, you could see where he was going from the stands. Huge mistake at a crucial part of the game.

What's the over/under on that?

Let's just hope Morris isn't as hard headed as JJ was[and I doubt he is] when a QB is struggling. I know Davis is one of the team leaders and a class act but at 1-7 we need to leave all our options open the rest of the season. And it is obvious Davis is really struggling in all phases of his game and of course our line has a heck of a lot to do with all that.

He holds onto the ball with wide open receivers all the time.

The other thing that was so bad about that pick is it was a 3 yard out on 3rd and 8 with no pressure on him.
