Timing is everything and if he does the job here, he will certainly get his shot, but wonder if he wakes up and feels a tinge of regret that he did not stick around at Clemson one more year.
I do think he regrets going 2-12 in 12 games...
Maybe we lost a couple of inter-squad scrimmages too?

No coach would look like they have regrets even if they do. I think he regrets the talent that is here and that it will take longer than he expects to rebuild.
pretty sure he knew he was taking over one of the worst, if not the worst team in Division I - FBS football but he also knew our history and the potential resources behind the program. I'm sure he has to be disappointed in year one, but probably more determined than ever to prove himself now

True, but Houston is also in Whataburger territory. Wonder if he regrets not being the Coog coach.

I think he regrets that dreadful white/chrome helmet combo.

Can't imagine there is a whole lot of regret on Morris' part. He has the tiller of his own ship in his hand, and has already changed the atmosphere and attitude from the previous administration. He has demonstrated that he knows Texas, and is known and respected by the HS coaches here.
Still trying to get the bad taste out of my mouth from the last game, but beyond that, I saw SMU consistently compete and not give out, give in, or give up...save the last game. I'll bank the last game as the anomaly of this season, and not the trend.
Navasota got knocked out of the 4A Division 1 playoffs last week. SMU has been, and continues to make noise in these parts with contacts and coaching visits. In the other 9 years I have been involved as chaplain for the HS team, not even a sniff. I am quietly encouraged, especially in light of where we were 365 days ago.

And of course these are all SMU biased opinions by SMU fans. LOL.

Never noticed what fashion the team wants to trot out. What's truly fashionable is a helmet-removing hit from a weak side linebacker. That's a good look.

Beaty? I doubt it. He loves Lawrence, the facilities, and he knew the talent issue he was inheriting. Even with some good talent coming in next year, still likely a 1-2 win season, but again, something he knew.
