I appreciate the advice. There's a group Of us going down. Will definitely do some homework beforehand. Want to checkout Ponyte's restaurant recommendations as well. See you all there

Since you may well have Sat. open, the WW II museum is fabulous. The Battle of New Orleans battlefield is just down the river in Chalmette which is a very easy and close drive.

Don't know about golf, but TPC Louisiana s just across the river (I'm a member and can get you on with the best rates if I have enough lead time).

Mardi Gras is going on but no significant parades are scheduled during that weekend.

The WWII museum is a must see. It might not be ideal for a party weekend with the guys but I'd highly recommend it on a future visit. As ponyte said, it is fabulous.

I did the WWII museum as a rest/recovery afternoon one NOLA visit. Was way better than I expected. You can walk to it if you're staying downtown where all the hotels are.

Unfortunately I don't think I'll have time for a round of golf that weekend or else I would love to. I really appreciate the offer though, thank you.

LA, I'm a huge WWII history junkie. Definitely going to make some time to get out there and see it.

I second this. I also recommend you see the film that takes about 30 mins

I think I will stab a pencil in my eye and rip off a couple of fingernails to put me in the mood of a visit to New Orleans and then enjoy the game on TV.

You might be doing NOLA wrong

I always did it wrong. All my visits were for business and I was wined and dined well but being wined and dined well by a$$holes is still just being with a$$holes.

If Ponyte will ever forget the pitch I will visit him and let me enjoy it properly.

Make the trip. Its great here. And if you don't bring up being 5th in the Hiesman voting and not interviewing for the OSU gig, I can keep quiet about the Pitch.

TPC Louisiana is a really fun course.

Definitely hit bourbon street, seasoned vets will steer you away but it is quintessential to your visit. Then head to Frenchman and then maybe garden district/uptown (close to Tulane).

Donald Link's restaurants are amazing.

Best selection of craft beer is at Avenue Pub. Bonus that they're open 24/7.

Y'all have fun!
